Message From Pastor Hal 12/27/17

One thing is for certain…all sorts of things come to mind when the calendar rolls over. So we’ll look at the course of life in 2017 and make some suggestions for 2018…both in the areas of omission and co-mission this Sunday.

Great celebration of Jesus last Sunday. The highlight was the performance of the youth (both small and adult). Rich Helton (& friend) added some profound spirit as they lead some very well-loved carols. We also learned about life a bit through some of the significant characters of Christmas. The impoverished will always be there for our benevolence (Tiny Tim), Christmas is in our attitude & experience not in the things we have (Grinch), George Bailey reminds us that life goes up and then plummets…all several times and we can’t let it leave us down and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present & Future can either be dealt with or can overwhelm us. It all adds up to a very well-rounded way to approach life.

Winter is upon us (in case you hadn’t noticed the snow on Sunday). As winter rages on, please check our web site or Facebook page for any cancellations we’d be forced to make. We also have a connection to local broadcasting on which to list cancellations.

Finally this morning, the Brown family wishes to thank the VCC family for the card and gift last Sunday. I, for one, will always be able to regale the big hearts at Vision. We show regularly how we care for each other and others who may be outside our fellowship (but soon to be added we hope). With that stated, we still need commitments to stock the outdoor food pantry at the building under the canopy. It’s always open for easy access to utilize or stock. Spread the word.

Enjoy your week as you wind down 2017 and anticipate 2018. Let’s do our part to make it “The Year of Vision”.
